Pure water has a number of definitions depending on the application. Some examples include rinsing of laboratory glass ware, autoclave water, reagent grade for compounding or dilution, preparation of topically applied compounds, injectable solutions, rinsing of opticals, rinsing of silicon wafers in electronics, and the list goes on and on. The best approach before purchasing a system is to consult with a knowledgeable engineer. Dime Water engineers have a combined experience of over 60 years in application, design and construction in the industry.
Processes employed in obtaining high purity water may include backwashing and cartridge filtration ranging from 0.2 to 5 micron retention, activated carbon, UF, NANO and RO membranes, Ultra Violet lamps, Ozone generation from 185 NM lamps or corona discharge and DI resins. Materials of construction are carefully selected to avoid corrosion and eliminate the possibility of extractables contaminating the water.
All systems are constructed on robust framework that is 100% corrosion resistant with all components readily accessible for in-field servicing. Additionally, regardless of size, systems are fully automatic for hands-off operation. Adjustment valves are clearly marked as are gauges and instruments. A typical mid-level High Purity System with RO P&ID is shown in the drawing below.
