The Maxi-Cure Plus is essentially the same as the Maxi-Cure, except periodically and automatically OZONE is drawn into the unit to kill any accumulated bacteria
How Does the Maxi-Cure Plus Work?
Untreated water enters the Maxi-Cure system flowing through multiple layers of filtration, reducing the levels of sediment, suspended solids, iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg smell).
The filtered water then passes through a spring-loaded chamber, which creates a small pressure drop. This pressure drop initiates the formation of calcium hardness crystals.
These crystals pass through a catalytic surface, which greatly multiplies the number of crystals.
The water containing a multitude of calcium crystals then passes through a strong magnetic field which serves to hold the crystals in suspension form for a minimum of 72 hours rendering them harmless to your plumbing and plumbing fixtures. The entire process bonds calcium ions to each other rather than to your plumbing. A simple wiping with a damp cloth is typically sufficient to remove any residual mineral deposits rather than the usual abrasives and “elbow grease” that are normally required. The surface tension of the water is also reduced which results in a higher quality of water absorption into the human body and plant life.
After a preset period of time such as 1 to 4 days, the unit goes through a 3-step regeneration period during which any accumulated bacteria is killed and the filter media is returned to its as-new condition. This is normally set to occur a 2:00 am to avoid untreated water getting into the facility.
