Educational Background
Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin Madison.
Career History
Design engineer for Sunbeam Corporation. Designed fractional Hp motors, numerous injection molded parts, complete appliances and ran a facility in Tennessee. Design engineer for division of Johnson Controls. Designed electronic components, test protocols for military applications and obtained patents for medical, consumer and automotive products.
Began in water treatment industry in 1968 with an industrial equipment division of Calgon, Corp. Did C&I application, field service training, and designed a new control valve in concert with a supplying manufacturer.
Did commercial and residential design and sales work for Rheem/Ruud heaters and boilers. Joined Autotrol, Corp. as worldwide marketing manager. Traveled extensively to gain global perspective of equipment needs. Designed a custom control system for deionizers. Worked for Goulds, Corp. running as COOa water treatment division with worldwide sales and 200+ employees.
